Charity Work
Gujarat Cyclone November 1998
On 9 June 1998, cyclone struck the coastal regions of Gujarat, near the port of Kandla. When the winds had died down, they left 10,000 people missing, presumed dead, thousands more were left to the mercy of nature. The property damage was estimated at worth more than Rs.25 billion.
SEWA International appealed for the help. Navras Musical Group performed Garba Raas at Birmingham Pragati Mandal (BPM), Birmingham and at Northampton for Vishva Hindu Parishad. The money raised from both performances was passed on to SEWA Internaational and the National Association for the Blinds (Junagadh), Gujarat.
Gujarat earthquake 2001
The earthquake occurred on January 26, 2001, India's 51st Republic Day, at 08:46 AM. The epicentre was Bhuj (23.6° N 69.8° E) Gujarat, India. With a magnitude of between 7.6 and 8.1 on the Richter scale, the quake killed around 20,000 people (including 18 in South eastern Pakistan), injured another 167,000 and destroyed nearly 400,000 homes.
Gujarat Samachar at the time published a bhajan 'Madad Karjo Re Thodi' written by Mr Vallabhbhai H Patel of Wembley. Navras Musical Group approached Mr Patel and obtained his permission to record this bhajan on a CD. The money raised from the sale of the single track debute album Abhilasha was passed on to various charities.

Ram Katha 2001
In the year 2001 Shree Ram Mandir, Walsall organised a charity show to raise fund in aid of The Ram Katha Vedic Fetival 2001 at NEC, Birmingham. Navras Musical Group volunteered to provide Garba & Dandiya Raas at the Mandir and also an early prayer at the the NEC (refer to Photo 1 & Photo 2).
